– Together for free education! – Demonstration on December 5th –
On December 5th we will protest together against the new attacks of SPÖ and ÖVP! We are fighting together for free education
SPÖ an ÖVP want to introduce access restrictions in another 44 studies. All studies categorized in architecture, bilogy, economics, pharmacy and informatics are planned to be quantitatively restricted. Students will be sorted out by STEOP and entry exams. Everyone who has a job and has not got the money for expensive preparation courses is clearly in disadvantage!
Tuition fees for everyone. And: Who owns the wrong passport pays twice! Students, who exceed the minimal study duration plus two tolerance semesters will again have to pay tuition fees (363,36 euros). Especially at the end of the study, students who have to work, who have children or whose parents cannot afford an extra support, are particularly affected. Students without a EU-citizenship will be financally burdened even more in the future. They will have to pay double (726,72 euros). In addition, they are more likely to come from low income countries and often are not allowed (or only few ours maximum) to work in Austria. For many migrants, education will get unaffordable. The government grabs cash out of the purses of those, who already have financial troubles and who can barely defend themselves because of the racist legislations.
Every student and every study could be next. Education has to be there for everyone – not just for a small elite, who can afford it!
