What is the ÖH Structure?

The Austrian National Union of Students (ÖH) is the legally established representation of students at the Academy of Fine Arts. The members of the chair team, the university representation, the study course representations and the departments represent student interests in internal Academy committees, commissions and working groups as well as externally towards ministries, politics and society.

The Students’ Union of the Academy has set itself the goal of improving the legal situation of students in study-specific, social and other matters in everyday student life at the Academy. An important focus in all activities of the ÖH is that the special situation of socio-economically disadvantaged students and in particular people with unstable residence at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is taken into account.

You become a member of the ÖH by paying the statutory ÖH fee. You can use the ÖH membership passively or actively: You can take on functions within the student representation and thus assert the interests of the students of the entire university or in your field of study. All students are welcome to work with us!

Student representatives (StV)

A student representative body must be set up for each field of study. The student representatives are directly elected every two years in the course of the ÖH elections. Their size depends on the number of students. There are currently 7 student representatives at the AkBild.

Office for Anti-Ableist Practices

oeh@akbild.ac.at

> About us

We stand for inclusion by addressing barriers that students with physical, mental or sensory impairments often face in higher education. We aim to be a resource as well as a support network, offering advice on navigating administrative processes, accessing study facilities and promoting a community where experiences and solutions can be shared.
In addition to providing practical support, the unit actively advocates for policy changes to ensure that the academy becomes more accessible and inclusive.
We embody the spirit of self-empowerment and fights not only for access, but for a future in which all students, regardless of their abilities, can actively participate in academic life and help shape it.
