Blob collective was created as a platform for queer safe spaces and community gatherings in Bratislava, Slovakia. Our first project titled Apparitions arose from the feeling of the absence of inclusivity and otherness in the sound scales of the Bratislava club scene.The project goes hand in hand with our safe policy, where we oppose violence and discrimination based on ethnicity, nationality, origin, religion, sexual orientation or identification, gender, physical appearance or other characteristics.
In Apparitions no.2 we decided to react to the silencing of Kunsthalle Bratislava. This time we want to open the gates to artists with a wish to reconsider conservative values, by being openly present and visible. We’r creating a hybrid event consisting of DJ sets and art performances crossing one to another with a subtle theme which goes around Table manners, as the first step to better discourse and dialogue. The encounter brings multiple occasions during one night to its existence. During the Apparitions series of events, there will be several musical and artistic performances that will present the youngest generation of musical and intermedia artists. The main goal of our project is to contribute to the diversity that is missing in the current cultural scene. A safe space for any diversity goes hand in hand opposed to xenophobic expressions and any discrimination, whether based on gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religious beliefs, or other characteristics.
