The European Data agency describes Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) as “the practice of collecting and analyzing information gathered from open sources to produce actionable intelligence.” Raw material for OSINT is widely available since the proliferation of the internet and the accessibility to devices like computers, smartphones, cameras, drones and any other media-mechanisms. Thus creating open-source intelligence is a process of qualifying, sorting and contextualizing these vast amounts of data into coherent perspectives that enrich our view on reality. As artists and architects, we are trained to channel images and representations to produce interpretations of reality. Through the workshop and symposium on Cultures of Spatial Investigations we want to explore how OSINT strategies can extend our methods and learn from methods that have already adopted these strategies.
Hearings GLC 09. + 10.04.2024
Two days of hearings for the professorship §99 Austrian University Act 2002 (Universitätsgesetz 2002) for Architectural Design: Geography, Landscapes and Cities platform. The ÖH IKA provided the opportunity for students to voice their opinion about the candidates in an anonymous way in the form of a hand-out questionnaire as well as the opportunity to speak their mind in a talk afterwards. In hindsight one should have announced the discussion round better and highlighted it more since
very few people took the chance to talk about the hearings after.
IKA semester closing party 18.06.2024 in the inner courtyard
DJs of the Academy were recruited. A bar was built up in the second courtyards and voluntary bartenders were acquired, and together with Julian Schönborn, Alexander Groiss, Paul Schurich and Roxane Seckauer we had a deep fried pizza bar in the first courtyard close to the entrance.

Donation to blank
As a final action of the ’24 summer semester the ÖH IKA donates 800 EUR to blank, a magazine made by IKA students. The money comes from savings from the project funding that we received earlier.
