Wie du sicherlich schon mitbekommen hast, findet am 07.11.2022 der Aktionstag zu der Finanzsituation der TU Wien mit folgendem Programm statt:
— Ab 08:00 – Kundgebung und Versammlung im Resselpark
— Ab 12:00 – Marsch Richtung Bildungsministerium
— Ab 15:00 – Kundgebung vor dem Bildungsministerium
Die Inflation trifft auch die bereits kaputt gesparten Universitäten hart. Unter anderem aufgrund steigender Heiz- und Stromkosten steht allein die TU Wien vor Mehrkosten von über 170 Millionen Euro. Selbst unter den härtesten Sparmaßnahmen reicht das vom Bildungsministerium versprochene zusätzliche Budget von knapp 60 Millionen Euro bei weitem nicht, um das Budgetloch zu stopfen.
Die Folgen zeichnen sich bereits ab: Eingesparte Labore, Einstellungsstopps und gekürzte Lehr- und Forschungsbudgets, aber auch kalte Hörsäle, geschlossene Lernräume und weitere Online-Semester.
Wir haben nur noch bis 11.11. Zeit, das Bildungsministerium umzustimmen, das aktuell geplante Budget an die Realität anzupassen. Um den Verantwortlichen noch einmal in Erinnerung zu rufen, welche Bedeutung die TU Wien für die Gesellschaft und nicht zuletzt uns Studis hat, planen wir am Montag, dem 7.11. einen Aktionstag. Gemeinsam mit der Universitätsleitung, Lehrenden und der ganzen TU Wien haben wir folgendes geplant, um für ein adäquates, existenzsicherndes Bildungsbudget zu demonstrieren.
Falls du Lust hast, dich aktiv an der Organisation des Aktionstages und der anschließenden Demonstration zu beteiligen, kannst du gerne zu den nächsten geplanten Treffen kommen:

Dear fellow student,
As you have probably already noticed, the TU Action Day on the financial situation of the TU Vienna will take place on 07.11.2022 with the following program:
– From 08:00 – Rally and assembly in Resselpark.
– From 12:00 – March towards the Ministry of Education
– From 15:00 – Rally in front of the Ministry of Education
Inflation is also hitting the already broken universities hard. Among other things, due to rising heating and electricity costs, the Vienna University of Technology alone is facing additional costs of over 170 million euros. Even under the toughest austerity measures, the additional budget of just under 60 million euros promised by the Ministry of Education is nowhere near enough to plug the budget hole.
The consequences are already becoming apparent: cut laboratories, hiring freezes and reduced teaching and research budgets, as well as cold lecture halls, closed study rooms and more online semesters.
We only have until Nov. 11 to change the mind of the Ministry of Education, to bring the currently planned budget in line with reality. In order to remind those responsible once again of the importance of the TU Vienna for society and not least for us students, we are planning a day of action on Monday, November 7. Together with the university management, teachers and the whole TU Vienna we have planned the following to demonstrate for an adequate education budget that secures our existence.
